Visla Systems Ltd slashes MontaVista Embedded Linux based Digital Video Recorder cold boot up time by 67%.
Project proved to be very challenging due to the unique environment in which the DVR needs to operate. Main clock was not allowed to run on it’s full speed due to the wide operating temperature range of the DVR. Simultaneously all the components had to be ready before recording takes place, which included: Audio and Video chipsets, DSP with AV codecs, G Sensor, CF card with file system mounted and ready for recording, as well as Ethernet with TCP/IP set, CAN bus and USB.
Starting from approx. 30 seconds cold boot up time, Visla Systems Ltd brought it down below 10 seconds making another successful delivery for a world class motorsport engineering company.
